"I don't think the trick I did will be repeated in the next 20-30 years."
Idman.biz reports that this was stated by Azerbaijani gymnast Tofiq Aliyev, who won a silver medal with the incredible element he performed at the World Games held in Chengdu, China, and made a name for himself, to Oxu.Az.
"Being talked about more when you win a gold medal in a competition is worth it for anything, but it is not worth a gold medal. I won a silver medal, not gold. But with this move, I became a favorite of many tumbling enthusiasts. After this move, tumbling enthusiasts attacked the official "Instagram" page of the International Olympic Committee, asking why tumbling is still not considered an Olympic sport?", - Aliyev said.
The athlete noted that although he was engaged in wrestling for a while by the decision of his parents, he later returned to gymnastics based on his own decision.
"I want to win more medals. but more than that, there are several elements that I want to do. After that, I can finish my career comfortably. And of course, I want to win European and world gold medals in individual competitions", - Aliyev added.
The gymnast said that he is currently engaged in several sports. Among them are boxing, wrestling, tennis and football: "After tumbling, I probably won't be a professional in those sports. But I am interested in all kinds of sports."
He also did not hide his desire to become a coach of the national tumbling team in the future.
Aliyev also spoke about the element he performed in China, which has been widely spread on social networks in recent days: "Those who know me know that I sometimes have incredible dreams. Then I try to make them come true. This was one of them. So far, everything I have seen in my dreams about tumbling has come true. About 3 months before the competition, I saw this move I made in my dream. The next day, assistant coach Rahib Aliyev and I decided to test it. The head coach was in a meeting then. The first attempt failed. On the second, I landed on my feet. Later, after qualifying for the finals at the World Games, we said "why not". When I told the coach about my decision, he thought I was joking. Later, our conversation became serious and I did this move."
The athlete does not believe that someone will repeat this move in the next 20-30 years: "It is a very risky move."
