Azerbaijani climber Elmira Aslanova has conquered the summit of Jaya Mountain (Puncak Jaya / Carstensz Pyramid, 4884 m) in Indonesia.
Idman.biz reports that the expedition started on the morning of October 21 and lasted about seven hours.
Jaya Mountain, the highest point in Oceania, consists of limestone rocks and has a technically very difficult terrain.
This peak is considered one of the most difficult routes. Since the pedestrian road is closed, it can only be reached by helicopter. The tropical climate, constant rain, and slippery rocks create additional challenges for climbers.
