Barcelona football club continues to examine the possibility of transferring Atlético Madrid forward Julian Alvares.
İdman.Biz reports, citing El Nacional, that club president Joan Laporta considers the 26‑year‑old Argentine a priority option to strengthen the squad.
To finance the costly transfer, the Catalan club may part ways with two players. The club's plans include the possible sale of defender Alejandro Balde in the winter transfer window. Additionally, the departure of midfielder Frenkie de Jong is not ruled out.
Barcelona's management hopes that the funds obtained from these transfers will cover a significant portion of Alvares' transfer costs.
Note that although Alvares is interested in leaving the club, Atlético have not engaged in negotiations regarding the Argentine's sale.
Barcelona may make a new attempt in the winter to sign Alvares.
