The futsal tournament of the "Football Lesson in Schools" project, implemented in Azerbaijan within the framework of the UEFA "HatTrick" program, has been completed in the southern region. Sport24.az reports that a total of 10 school teams participated in the tournament organized among the students of general education institutions operating under the Lankaran-Astara Regional Education Department.
More than 100 students (girls and boys) competed in the competitions held in the sports hall of Sutamurdov village secondary school in Lankaran.
In the final match of the tournament, the host team - the team of Sutamurdov village secondary school - became the winner of the competition, defeating the team of secondary school No. 4. The team of secondary school No. 4 took the second place, and the team of Hirkan village secondary school took the third place.
At the end, the awarding ceremony of the winners was held. The winning team was awarded a cup by AFFA, and the top three teams were presented with gifts. In addition, players who distinguished themselves during the tournament were awarded with prizes in various individual nominations. The awards were presented to the team members by Farrukh Ismayilov, the head of the Mass Football Department of AFFA, a veteran football player.
It should be noted that the main purpose of organizing the "Football Lesson in Schools" project is to increase the interest of schoolchildren in sports, especially football, to contribute to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, to increase the physical activity of students, and to create conditions for instilling values such as teamwork, friendship and "fair-play" through football.
