Real Madrid winger Rodrygo Goes will not be able to return until early 2027.
According to a report by Idman.Biz citing COPE, the 25-year-old Brazilian is still recovering from a serious injury and is not expected to play until early 2027.
Rodrygo is undergoing a long rehabilitation process and the club will only allow him to return when the risk of relapse is minimal, taking a very cautious approach. Rodrygo's health problems began in March, when a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a damaged lateral meniscus in his right knee were discovered during medical examinations.
Rodrygo underwent surgery on March 10 and the initial recovery period was estimated to be 10-12 months. The main priority for Rodrygo and Real Madrid's medical team is complete rehabilitation without attempting to rush his return. Therefore, if his recovery schedule remains unchanged, he will not play for Real Madrid until the end of 2026. His exact return date depends on his rehabilitation.
It's worth noting that Rodrygo's contract with Real Madrid runs until the summer of 2028. Despite his difficult situation due to the injury, the club hopes for the Brazilian player's return.
