Donetsk's Shakhtar will not participate in the Champions League for the first time in the 21st century.
QOL.az reports that after Dynamo Kyiv's victory over Ingulets (4:0) in the 27th round of the Ukrainian Premier League, Shakhtar lost their mathematical chances for the championship.
Dynamo has 67 points and leads the league with 3 rounds left until the end of the championship. Shakhtar is in 3rd place with 57 points.
Thus, the miners will not play in the Champions League for the first time since the 1999/2000 season.
The Donetsk representative participated in the Champions League competition in the 21st century as champion and vice-champion.
Unlike previous seasons, this time only the winner of the Ukrainian Premier League will participate in the Champions League (from the second qualifying round).
It should be noted that Oleksandriya is currently in the 2nd place in the Ukrainian Premier League with 60 points and one match in reserve.
