Benfica's head coach, Jose Mourinho, has announced a specific time to put an end to the rumors circulating about his future career. Sport24.az reports that the Portuguese specialist has stated that he will announce his decision after the domestic championship concludes.
After Benfica's 2-2 draw with Braga, their chances of qualifying for the Champions League have decreased, and Jose Mourinho has remained silent about his future. The specialist, who currently says he is only focused on the team, has advised waiting until the end of the season for his decision:
"It's not the time to think about the future and contracts in the last week of the season. From the moment we entered this stage, I decided not to listen to anyone and to distance myself in my working environment."
The experienced coach also commented on his name being mentioned with Real Madrid. He said that he is not in negotiations with any club and will be ready to answer questions after May 18:
"Starting on Monday, both my personal future and the club's plans will be discussed."
At the end of the conference, Mourinho addressed the journalists and explained the interesting reason for controlling his emotions:
"The reason I'm staying here is that I don't want to start the next season with a penalty. There's only one game and one week left. Relax."
