The Turkish national team finished the European zone E group of the 2026 World Cup in second place after a 2-2 draw against Spain in an away match and qualified for the play-off stage.
Idman.Biz reports that the Turkish national team secured their place in the play-offs with a 2-0 victory over Bulgaria in the 5th round of the group. After yesterday's matches, all the teams that will take part in the play-off stage have been determined.
How will the play-offs be held?
12 teams from the qualifying stage and 4 teams from the League of Nations will participate in the 2026 World Cup play-offs. In total, 16 teams will be divided into 4 pots. The 1st pot will face the 4th pot, and the 2nd pot will face the 3rd pot.
Game dates
The semi-final will be held on March 26, 2026. The final is scheduled for March 31, 2026.
Matches will be held over a single game. The team that wins the final will qualify for the World Cup. The teams in the 1st and 2nd pots will play their semi-final matches at home, and the home owner of the final will be determined after the draw.
