Azerbaijan national team goalkeeper Shahruddin Mahammadaliyev has revealed the reason for leaving "Qarabag" in 2023 and moving to the Turkish club "Adana Demirspor".
Idman.biz reports with reference to Sport24.az that the 31-year-old goalkeeper spoke about this in the "PODKAT" project.
He cited their defeat to Polish representative "Rakuv" in the UEFA Champions League qualifying round at that time as one of the reasons for this decision.
The player emphasized that he was subjected to harsh criticism for the mistakes he made in the match: "I couldn't take it anymore. I play with emotions and it was very difficult for me."
It should be noted that the player, who wore the uniform of the Aghdam representative from 2016 to 2023, returned to "Qarabag" in 2024.
