Discussions continue around the dismissal of a group of players from the "Shirvan" club, which plays in the Second League.
Idman.Biz reports that Emin Mammadov, the general manager of "Shirvan", denied the allegations about financial problems in an interview with sportinfo.az. According to him, the club has no debt obligations to the players and is not currently experiencing any financial difficulties.
Previously, some players claimed that the funds allocated to the club after the first round were reduced, and some businessmen withdrew their financial support, citing unstable results. According to the players, for this reason, payments were not fully made, and the protesting players were offered to leave the camp.
Emin Mammadov, however, stated that these claims do not reflect reality. He noted that the separation from the two players who were removed from the team was based purely on sports principles and their performance did not meet the club's requirements. The general manager added that the information spread about any pressure on the players, suspension of payments, or forced separation is unfounded.
Currently, "Shirvan", which is spending its first season in the Second League, is in sixth place in the tournament table after 14 rounds, with 23 points. The team's chances of being promoted to the First League are not realistically remain. The Shirvan representative is 16 points behind the leaders "Garadag Lokbatan" and "Khankendi".
Thus, the situation in "Shirvan" has captured the agenda by creating a contradiction between allegations of a financial crisis and the statements of the club management.
