Manchester United's Danish forward, Rasmus Hojlund, has transferred to Italian Serie A representative, Napoli. Sport24.az reports that after the 23-year-old forward's move was formalized, he made emotional statements about both his new club and his former team.
Hojlund, stating that he is now officially a Napoli player, did not hide that it was not easy to say goodbye to Manchester United:
"I am now officially a Napoli player and I am saying goodbye to Manchester United. It's a bit of a strange feeling. Because for the last year, I already felt like I was a part of Napoli. The support shown to me by the Neapolitan fans helped me feel at home and restore my lost self-confidence. I am grateful to everyone for this."
The young striker, who said he fulfilled his childhood dream, emphasized that he will not forget the days he spent in the "Red Devils" camp:
"Saying goodbye to Manchester United is very emotional for me. Wearing that red shirt at Old Trafford was my childhood dream and I achieved it. I thank the United fans, players and the entire staff for giving me this chance."
The Danish goalscorer, who has started scoring goals in his new team, also spoke about his future goals:
"The last goal I scored is a symbol of a new and confident beginning. In the next period, I will give everything on the field for Napoli. Now is the time to chase new dreams."
