"Mingachevir's goal is to become the champion of Azerbaijan," Sport24.az reports that this was stated by Ramiz Mammadov, who was newly appointed to the position of head coach of the team, in a statement to the club's press service.
He thanked the management for their trust:
"I thank the club management for trusting and sending the invitation. We will try to justify their trust. Mingachevir is my hometown. I started playing football here, I was a player-coach, a captain. Moreover, I played two finals in Mingachevir. From this day on, we are rolling up our sleeves and starting work. First of all, we need to assemble a team. Players must be acquired for every position - from the goalkeeper to the attacking line. I will try to invite familiar, experienced and promising football players. The goal is to make "Mingachevir" champion. God willing, we will create a preparation plan in the coming days and start working to achieve the goal. As far as I know, the championship will start in September. So we have time."
It should be noted that Ramiz Mammadov replaced Fuzuli Mammadov as the head coach of "Mingachevir".
