"Qarabağ"'s Champions League opponent, Newcastle United's head coach Eddie Howe, has reacted to reports that he will leave the team and move to the England national team, replacing Thomas Tuchel.
İdman.Biz reports that after recent unsuccessful results, although it was claimed on social media that he had completed his mission at the club, Howe denied these reports, stating that he works every day for the success of the club.
"These claims are a surprise to me. I pay maximum attention to my work every day. I don't think much about the future, I just do my best every day," the head coach emphasized.
The season is not easy for the "Magpies". The team said goodbye to the tournament by losing to Manchester City with a total score of 1:5 in the semi-finals of the League Cup. Currently ranked 11th in the Premier League, Newcastle is also struggling with injury problems. In particular, the absence of Alexander Isak, who was sold to Liverpool for $176.5 million (300 million AZN) in the summer, is seriously felt in the attack line. The 219 million pounds sterling (507 million 269 thousand 700 AZN) spent by the club on new transfers has not yet yielded the expected result.
However, Eddie Howe reminded that his team is still continuing the fight.
It should be noted that the first match between "Qarabağ" and "Newcastle" will take place on February 18 at 21:45 in Baku, and the return match will take place on the night of February 24-25 at 23:59 in England.
