Truck driver Jose Azevedo, who claims to be the author of the video of the burning "Lamborghini" car in which Portuguese football players Diogo Jota and Andre Silva lost their lives, shared detailed information about the tragedy.
Idman.biz reports that his words were presented by the famous Portuguese publication "Record".
Jose Azevedo recalls the incident as follows: "I was filming a video and stopped to help, but unfortunately, I couldn't do anything. My conscience is clear. I know what I went through that night. To be honest, I didn't know who was in the car. I offer my condolences to their families. I can say with certainty that they were not speeding. I could see the make and color of the car. I drive this road every day - from Monday to Saturday - and I know that this road is in very bad condition. It's a dark road, but it was possible to make out the make and color of the car. Unfortunately, such an incident occurred."
It is also reported that Azevedo tried to help the football players at the scene by using a fire extinguisher.
It should be noted that the football players died in a car accident in northwestern Spain. The "Lamborghini" driven by Diogo Jota went off the road and caught fire after its tire exploded during overtaking. Jota, the striker of "Liverpool" and the Portuguese national team, and his brother Andre Silva, who played for the "Penafiel" club, were buried in Portugal on July 5.
