The upholding of the AFFA Disciplinary Committee's decision is a major blow to the career of Neftchi footballer Igor Ribeiro.
Rustam Afsarli, media coordinator of the "white-blacks," said this in an interview with "Report".
The club official said they were dissatisfied with the decision:
"We are very dissatisfied with the decision. Of course, we hoped that the punishment imposed by the Disciplinary Committee would be reduced. But it didn't happen. The three-match ban remained in effect. This is a great loss for us. It is also a major blow to the player's career. He will not be able to appear on the field for more than a month. We have also suffered from wrong decisions of referees in recent matches. We hope and believe that we will witness fair decisions in the following rounds."
It should be noted that Neftchi footballer Igor Ribeiro received a direct red card for aggressive behavior (hitting an opponent) in the third round match of the Misli Premier League, which they lost to Turan Tovuz. By the decision of the AFFA Disciplinary Committee, he was suspended for 3 matches, and a fine of 3,000 manats was imposed on the "white-blacks". Although the club appealed to the AFFA Appeal Arbitration Tribunal regarding the matter, the decision was upheld.
