A mini-football tournament dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the UEFA Foundation for children was organized in Sheki with the joint organization of AFFA and the "Regional Development" Public Union among teams of boys and girls aged 9-12 from orphanages located in Sheki. Sport24.az reports that Farrukh Ismayilov, head of the Mass Football Department of AFFA, speaking at the opening ceremony, emphasized that such events play an important role in increasing children's interest in football and supporting their physical development.
Later, Kifayat Mustafayeva, AFFA's Social and Environmental Sustainability Manager, said in her speech that such projects make an important contribution to the development of children's social skills, their self-expression in an environment of equal opportunities, and their more active integration into society.
Aqshin Oruclu, Head of Department of the "Regional Development" Public Union, spoke about the projects implemented by the Union to increase interest in sports among the public and to ensure the physically healthy growth of the younger generation.
At the end of the competition, the winning teams were awarded by representatives of AFFA and the "Regional Development" Public Union. At the same time, all children participating in the tournament were presented with sports clothes and equipment by AFFA.
It should be noted that the main purpose of organizing the tournament is to support the physical and social development of children living in orphanages, to increase their interest in sports, to promote a healthy lifestyle, to strengthen team spirit and to stimulate their integration into society.
