Argentine national team and Inter Miami (USA) forward Lionel Messi has set a new record in MLS.
According to "Report", citing the competition's press service, the footballer has been named the best player of the month for the 5th time in his MLS career.
This is a new record in the championship. Messi has won 5 awards in two years, three of which he received this season.
The forward is also the third player in MLS history to win the "Player of the Month" award three times in one season, after Carlos Vela (2019) and Chris Wondolowski (2012).
It should be noted that the Argentine footballer scored 5 goals and provided the same number of assists in 3 matches he played in October.
