Qarabağ football team midfielder Marko Jankovic has released a statement on his social media account regarding the footage of him allegedly wanting to hit the referee. The experienced footballer wrote about the red card he received in the last match and the tension on the field.
Idman.Biz reports that Jankovic claims that the representative of justice used unethical expressions against him and behaved unprofessionally.

Addressing the journalists, he shed light on the unseen aspects of the incident:
"If I wanted to hit him, I had enough opportunity to do so. Have you asked yourself what the referee said or did to me that made me react like that? It's not about the penalty. When I asked him to look at VAR on the field, he showed me a red card and swore heavily. He did this not only to me, but also to other players several times."
Jankovic also noted that the referee provoked him by inviting him to the locker room after the game:
"The referee, who should be the most composed person on the field, invites me to his room?! Why? To fight with me? This is absurd, unprofessional, and disrespectful to his profession. I may disagree with his decision, but no one has ever sworn at him so heavily."
Jankovic recalled that this is the first red card he has received in his four years at Qarabag and only the second in his entire career.
