In the VI round of the Azerbaijan II League, the "Khankendi" club, defeating "Araz Saatlı" with a score of 14:0, repeated the XXI century record set by "Shafa" 22 years ago. Sport24.az reports that the press service of the Professional Football League has released information about this.
This was the biggest victory in the history of competitions held under the PFL flag. Since 2008, there had been no winner with a difference of 14 goals in the Premier League, I League, II League, Reserve League, National Cup and Super Cup.
"Khankendi's" 14:0 victory over "Araz Saatlı" is a repetition of the second largest result for professional and semi-professional tournaments of independent Azerbaijan in general (excluding the games of the II League in the last century).
Only once has a bigger difference been recorded in the national championship and cup. In the 1993/1994 season, in the duel of teams competing in the I division, "Metallurg" representing Sumgayit defeated "Goytepe" with a score of 15:0.
The score of 14:0 has been recorded for the 3rd time. Both of the previous victories were achieved by "Shafa", and they achieved these successes in the national cup. In the 1997/1998 season against HHQ İK, and in the 2003/2004 season against "Lider Karabakh", "Shafa" scored 14 unanswered goals.
