Cicinho joined "Real" in 2006. He won the Spanish league title with the club and moved to "Roma" after the season.
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, the Brazilian defender struggled with alcohol addiction throughout his career, starting in his teens.
"When I joined "Real", I thought: "Perfect, now I can have fun forever." I went to bed at four in the morning and trained drunk at eight. Fabio Capello didn't notice because I was playing well," the Brazilian said.

Cicinho first drank alcohol at the age of 13.
"I destroyed myself with alcohol. When I played in "Roma", I drank 70 bottles of beer and 15 Caipirinhas a day. I drank beer at the age of 13 and fell in love with it like I fell in love with a woman," the defender confessed.
Cicinho suffered a knee injury in 2009. It was then that he first began to think about his alcoholism.
The Brazilian now lives in São Paulo, works as a television commentator, and began his religious journey a few months ago as an evangelist pastor.
