The decision regarding Juninho at the Brazilian football club "Flamengo" has become a topic of discussion again.
Idman.Biz reports that the club management considers it a mistake to quickly send the former "Qarabag" striker away from the team. The Brazilian representative considers it a wrong decision not the transfer of Juninho, but his sale to the Mexican football club "Pumas" in December.
Juninho was the first transfer during the new leadership of "Flamengo" in 2025.

The president of "Flamengo", Luis Eduardo Baptista, said that the responsibility for the decision regarding Juninho lies with the club:
"Everything did not go as we wanted in the Juninho transfer. I think the reason for this was not the football player, the mistake was ours. Leo Pereyra waited a year and a half to be accepted by the fans. Mischael waited more than a year, Rodinei almost two years, and Erik Pulgar waited a year. Today, as soon as a football player arrives, everyone immediately expects a high level of play from him. It is not easy to play in a club like "Flamengo". Attention, demand, pressure - these are all in one package. Juninho needed more time to adapt."

It should be reminded that Juninho moved from the "Qarabag" football club to "Flamengo" in January 2025. This transfer cost the Brazilian club five million euros (10 million AZN). The striker played for "Flamengo" for only one year.
Juninho played 32 matches for the Brazilian club. He was in the starting lineup in only seven of them. The striker scored four goals during this time.
Juninho, who moved to Pumas in December, attracted attention with his more productive performance in Mexico. The striker was directly involved in 12 goals in 20 games for his new team with eight goals and four assists. This indicator is presented as one of the main points that caused the Flamengo management to reconsider the decision.
