In the return leg of the UEFA Europa League play-off round, "Fenerbahce" was a guest of "Nottingham Forest" in England. The match was briefly stopped due to a flare being thrown onto the field from the stands where the "yellow-navy blues" were located, right in the first minute of the match.
Idman.Biz reports that the referee of the match met with "Fenerbahce" captain Ismail Yuksek and asked for the fans to be calmed down. After Ismail went to the stands and warned them, the game restarted and the situation was brought under control.

After the incident, the previous penalty imposed by UEFA came back into the agenda. In the fourth round of the Europa League, due to incidents in the away game against "Viktoria Plzen," the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee fined "Fenerbahce" a total of 78,000 euros (156,000 AZN) for racist behavior, damage to objects, lighting flares, and throwing foreign objects onto the field.

The organization also issued a ban on ticket sales to fans for the next away game but suspended this sanction for a probationary period of two years. After the recent events in the away game against "Nottingham Forest," it is of great interest whether that suspended penalty will come into effect.
When flares were thrown onto the stadium, "Nottingham Forest" fans also did not remain silent and chanted offensive slogans against the "Fenerbahce" club, mentioning the name of "Galatasaray."
It should be noted that although "Fenerbahce" won the return match with a score of 2:1, they said goodbye to the tournament due to the 0:3 defeat in the first match.
