France national team coach Didier Deschamps spoke harshly about the 2:2 draw with Iceland in the qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup.
According to Idman.Biz, Deschamps was dissatisfied with the performance of his players and the refereeing team.
"What angers me is how we conceded the second goal. We were too open, even though we had just scored. The team was in the wrong position. Maybe there was a bit of a lack of concentration, but we shouldn't have that.
In the first goal (into the French national team's goal), there was a foul against Koné. Apparently, sometimes they (the referees) are asleep. That goal could have been disallowed," RMC Sport quoted Deschamps as saying.
After four qualifying matches, the French national team has 10 points and is first in Group D, which also includes Azerbaijan.
