Both matches started at the same time. In one of these matches, "Qarabag's" potential opponents in the second qualifying round, "Linfield" (Northern Ireland) and "Shelbourne" (Ireland), faced each other. The winning Irish team became the opponent of the Azerbaijani champion.
The Bulgarian champion narrowly passed the stage in the match against Minsk "Dinamo". "Ludogorets" achieved this thanks to a goal scored in extra time.
