After the "Neftchi" - "Shamakhi" match (3:0) of the XXXI round of the Misli Premier League, the head coach of the visiting team, Aykhan Abbasov, answered journalists' questions. Sport24.az reports that the specialist first shared his thoughts on the meeting:
– We are waiting for the last games. We are at such a point in the championship that some matches are of a formal nature. Nevertheless, we have a home match ahead, we will face "Turan Tovuz". We will prepare, there are some players that we want to see on the field.
– You played against two strong opponents in a row and could not score a goal. Do you feel a problem in the players' focus on the games?
– We conceded six goals in two matches. Before that, if I'm not mistaken, we were 4th or 5th among the teams that conceded the fewest goals. Our schedule was heavy. We knew that the last matches would be difficult, the opponents are more ambitious teams. Before these games, we secured our place in the championship. It's the end of the season and fatigue is normal. The league was intense for us. You see that the players are waiting for rest. This is also normal. The opponent should also be noted, they also approach each match like a final. The players gave their lives on the difficult road. We wanted to make our fans happy, but unfortunately it didn't work out.
– In your opinion, was it more difficult against "Neftchi" in the first game here or in today's match?
– We drew 2:2 in Shamakhi and it was not easy. In that game, the opponent did not differ much from us. True, the end of the match was dramatic. I don't compare it with today's meeting. "Neftchi" was superior today, they also perform well in the last matches. They defeated "Garabagh", then defeated "Karvan-Yevlakh". Their way to the Europa League is open. "Neftchi" is the history of Azerbaijani football. Their staff has potential and deserves to be higher.
– Has your fate in "Shamakhi" been clarified? If there is an offer, can it change your mind?
– We talked to the club and analyzed the situation. God willing, we will earn points from the next two games and leave like that.
– Is there an offer from "Shafa"?
– There was no such conversation. We must focus on one thing, there is a difficult road ahead. I have not had any negotiations with any club.
