Azerbaijani national team midfielder Aleksey Isayev shared his thoughts on the big goals of "Qarabağ", where he plays, in European cups. Sport24.az reports that the 29-year-old football player gave an interview to "Championat".
Isayev says that "Qarabağ" is always tasked with reaching the main stage of the UEFA Champions League: "We are moving step by step in this direction. Our team is a good, close-knit team, we have professional players and an excellent coaching staff. I think we deserve that level.
I watched the game in Budapest at home, in Baku. When we conceded a goal, of course, there was concern. But I believed in the team, and I still believe. Before the game, I also said that we will win today, and the guys did a great job. But we must not be complacent. Nothing is over. The return game will be more difficult and we must be fully prepared for it.
There is no pressure, but people hope, believe and look forward to it. We must not disappoint them. We must achieve our goal."
It should be noted that in the first match of the Champions League play-off stage, "Qarabağ" defeated the Hungarian club "Ferencváros" 3:1 away. The return match will be held today in Baku and will start at 20:45.
