The opening ceremony of the "Shamakhi Open 2026" International Chess Festival was held. Sport24.az reports that the organizers and guests congratulated the participants and wished them success, highlighting the contribution of the tournament to the development of chess.
Note that the festival features chess players from various countries, along with Azerbaijan.
The competition is held in accordance with FIDE rules, and the results are counted towards the international rating.
