Uzbek chess player Javokhir Sindarov talked about his interest in the "Counter-Strike" computer game series.
Idman.Biz reports that the young grandmaster admitted that he once spent more time on computer games than on chess.
"While other kids spent 10 hours a day on chess, I spent my time on "Counter-Strike" every day. Even when I became a grandmaster in 2019, I devoted 2-3-4 hours every day. The quarantine period helped me a lot: at that time I got really tired of playing "Counter-Strike" and realized that it was time to return to chess. After the quarantine, I started working very seriously and my life changed," said Sindarov.
It should be noted that the 20-year-old chess player won the Candidates Tournament ahead of schedule and will soon fight for the chess crown.
