Another Azerbaijani boxer started the World Championship held in Liverpool with a victory. Sport24.az reports that Saidjamshid Jafarov finished his first fight in his favor.
Our representative, competing in the 75 kg weight category, defeated Gavin Rafferty (Ireland) in the 1/16 finals. Jafarov, who scored all three rounds, eventually won with a score of 5:0 (30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:26).
He will hold his next meeting against Daigo Sunaga (Japan), who is free from the first stage.
Note that the fight will take place on September 9.
