Azerbaijani Deaflympic athletes won three gold, two silver, and two bronze medals at the Shotokan World Karate Championship held in Istanbul, Turkey.

Hikmat Agayev (+18 years, 75 kg, kumite), Sahib Sahibli (+18 years, +75 kg, kumite), and Yusif Azimzade (14-17 years, 60 kg, kumite) won gold medals.
Ayten Gadirova (kata) and Nizamaddin Azimzade (14-17 years, 60 kg, kumite) finished the competition with silver medals.
Aliakbar Alizade (+18 years, 75 kg, kumite) and Elnur Gasimzade (+18 years, +75 kg, kumite) won bronze medals.
