"Absheron Lions" are learning to compete in the European Cup.
According to "Report", Erhan Toker, head coach of the Absheron Lions basketball club, said this at a press conference.
The experienced specialist shared his thoughts on the main stage game of the FIBA European Cup, in which they lost to the Estonian representative "Kalev" in Baku:
"We wanted to start the group games with a victory. The opponent is a team with some experience in European tournaments. In this sense, we tried to play aggressively. We had been preparing for this match for several days. Unfortunately, we couldn't win. The opponent scored easy points during the match. If we had shown the determination we showed at the end of the game earlier, we could have won. But when we fell behind by 15 points, it becomes difficult to eliminate it. At the beginning of the match, the opponent played tough. It was already a bit late when we started fighting hard. As a team, we are learning to compete in the European Cup."
It should be noted that the "Absheron Lions" - "Kalev" match ended with a score of 93:85 in favor of the opponent.
