Members of the Azerbaijani U-17 women's Greco-Roman wrestling team have successfully performed at the European Championship held in Samokov, Bulgaria.
Idman.Biz reports that Nuray Jafarli (46 kg) defeated North Macedonian representative Frosina Atanasova by "pinfall" and advanced to the 1/4 finals.
Simura Abdullayeva (69 kg) also defeated Bulgarian wrestler Natalia Taseva by "pinfall" and qualified for the 1/4 final stage.

In the qualifying round, Nuray Jafarli in the 46 kg weight category will face Frosina Atanasova from North Macedonia.
In the 1/8 finals, Fatima Bayramova, competing in the 53 kg category, will face the winner of the match between Russian representative Malita Bolatova and Ecrin Salık from Turkey.
In the same stage, Fidan Babayeva in the 61 kg category will face the winner of the pair Moldova athlete Lidia Ana Ungureanu and Swedish representative Inez Ester Lea Airaksinen.
In the 69 kg category, Simura Abdullayeva will test her strength against Bulgarian wrestler Natalia Georgieva Taseva.
In the 1/4 finals, Gulkhanyum Shirinova in the 40 kg weight category will face Russian representative Zlata Koreshova.
It should be noted that the competition will end on May 17.
