Members of the Azerbaijani national wrestling team have performed successfully at the U-17 European Championship held in Samokov, Bulgaria.
Idman.Biz reports that our wrestler Vahid Mammadov, competing in the 60 kg weight category, defeated Spaniard Samvel Gorgyan with a full advantage (10:0) and advanced to the 1/4 finals.
Ibrahim Hasanov, who competed in the 51 kg category, also defeated Ukrainian Bogdan Kazakov with a full advantage (10:0) and advanced to the 1/4 finals.
It should be noted that earlier, Tunar Hasanov in the 45 kg category defeated Georgian representative Mkrtich Janamyan 3:2, and Elgun Kerimli in the 92 kg category defeated Armenian wrestler Artur Mkrtchyan with a score of 8:0, advancing to the 1/4 finals.

Tunar Guliyev, who competed in the 71 kg weight category, lost to Armenian Avetik Tutkhalyan 2:15 in the preliminary stage. Our representative Elgun Kerimli, competing in the 92 kg category, achieved a confident victory over Armenian wrestler Artur Mkrtchyan with a score of 8:0 and qualified for the 1/4 finals.
In this stage, our other representatives Vahid Mammadov (60 kg) will face Spaniard Samvel Gorgyan, and Ibrahim Hasanov (51 kg) will face Ukrainian Bohdan Kazakov.
It should be noted that the competition will end on May 17.
