Osman Nurmagomedov (92 kg), a freestyle wrestler from Azerbaijan, has advanced to the semifinals of the World Championship held in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.
İdman.biz reports that Nurmagomedov defeated Olympic medalist and three-time European champion Daulen Kurugliev (Greece) with a score of 2:0 in the 1/4 finals.
It should be noted that another Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler, Jabrayil Hajiyev (79 kg), failed to qualify for the semifinals and lost to the representative of Greece, European champion Georgios Kougimitsidis, with a score of 0:8.
