"Rennes" and Switzerland striker Breel Embolo is close to continuing his career in the MLS.
According to the information provided by Idman.Biz with reference to "The Athletic", "Atlanta United" is in the final stage of transferring the 29-year-old footballer.
The transfer fee is estimated to be around 15.5 million euros. If the contract is signed, Embolo will become one of the five most expensive transfers in MLS history.
Last season, the Swiss striker played 34 games for his club, scoring 10 goals and making three assists.
Embolo has previously played for "Basel", "Schalke", "Borussia" Monchengladbach, and "Monaco". The striker has played 92 games for the Switzerland national team and scored 26 goals. In the 2026 World Cup, he scored two goals and made two assists.
In "Atlanta United", Embolo can form an attacking line with Miguel Almiron and Aleksey Miranchuk. The club is rebuilding its squad after a disappointing season and is currently among the teams at the bottom of the standings.
