Defender Cristian Romero has shared a farewell letter on social media after leaving Tottenham, where he has played since the summer of 2022.
İdman.Biz reports that the media had previously reported that the player would be transferred to Atletico Madrid.
"Today I say goodbye to a place that has been more than just a club for me for five seasons. This is my home, my struggle, and where my family and I have built such an important part of our lives.
I leave with a heart full of memories and great pride in everything we have experienced and achieved together. When I arrived, I had a clear ambition: to leave my mark on the history of this club. I knew that the only way was through hard work, sacrifice, and striving for something that seemed out of reach for a long time: to lift the cup again. And we did it.
The journey was not perfect, but I do not want to define my farewell by that. I choose to remember the happy moments, the lessons, the people who have been by my side, and most importantly, the love I have received over these five years.
I thank everyone at the club who has shared this journey with me. Coaches, teammates, employees, and everyone working behind the scenes - you are all part of my story and have a place in my heart.
And to the fans: thank you for loving me, for treating me with respect and making me feel like one of you from the very beginning. Thank you for every hug, every song, every flag, every applause, and for always being there for me. I know I wasn't perfect, but one thing gives me peace: I always gave 100 percent. I have defended this shirt with pride and all my heart. Thank you for everything.
I am leaving the club, but a part of my heart will always be here. I was once one of you, and today I leave as one of you forever. With all my love and respect. Thank you for everything. And goodbye, Tottenham", Romero wrote.
