Cuban volleyball player Luis Elian Estrada, who left Iran after military attacks by the US and Israel against Iran, experienced difficult moments on the Turkish border. The athlete, who arrived at the Kapıköy customs checkpoint, was unable to enter Turkey or return to Iran.
İdman.Biz reports that Estrada stated in a video he shared on his social media account that he had been sleeping in a seat for more than 24 hours. He noted that he could not complete the visa procedures due to the lack of internet in Iran and could not return because his passport had an exit stamp:
"I swear to God, I never thought I would be in this situation in my life. I don't wish this on anyone, not even my worst enemy."
The Turkish police immediately reacted to the volleyball player's call for help. The resulting visa crisis was resolved quickly, and Estrada's entry into Turkey was secured.
