Seven-time Grand Slam champion and world number two, Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, has announced that he will miss the 2026 Wimbledon tournament.
Idman.Biz reports that Alcaraz reached the Wimbledon final last year, losing to Italian Jannik Sinner in the final.
"My recovery is going well, I'm getting better, but unfortunately I'm still not ready to compete, so I've had to withdraw from the grass court tournaments at Queen's Club and Wimbledon. These two tournaments are really special to me and I will miss them very much. We will continue to work to get back as soon as possible!" Alcaraz wrote on social media.
This season, Alcaraz suffered a wrist injury at the Barcelona tournament. Due to the injury, the Spaniard withdrew from future competitions, including Roland Garros 2026.
