To celebrate Gazakh being chosen as the "Sports Capital" for 2026, a special camp and hiking program called "Towards the Summit - Gazakh 2026" will be organized by the Azerbaijan Mountaineering Federation with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports on May 27-29.
Idman.Biz reports that during the event, participants will get acquainted with the nature, historical sites, and mountain routes of Gazakh, and will also participate in rock climbing and hiking activities.
The camp will be set up in the area of Lake Garasu. The program also includes hiking towards Damjili spring, Avey temple, Gizilgaya and Goyazan mountain.
The main goal of the project is to promote a healthy lifestyle, mountaineering and ecotourism culture among young people, as well as to promote the sports potential of the regions.
