The roads in Azerbaijan are magnificent. Sport24.az reports that this was stated by Sahib Alakbarov, First Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the "Baku-Khankendi" Azerbaijan Cycling Race, in a statement to journalists.
He shared his thoughts on the third stage of the tournament:
"We successfully completed the third stage as well. I feel like I am in the most beautiful country in the world. The participants say that our roads are very beautiful and magnificent. Everything from Gabala to Mingachevir was magnificent. This is the opinion not only of me, but also of foreign guests."
It should be noted that in the third stage, Russian member of the Kazakhstan "Astana" team Gleb Suritsa won gold, Belgian Dupont Timothy ("Tarteletto-Isorex") won silver, and Ecuadorian Pita Kristian David ("Roojai Insurance Winspace") won bronze.
24 teams representing 20 countries of the world are competing in the UCI 2.1 category race. The prize fund of the five-stage race is more than 50,000 euros. The race will end on May 14.
The final stage of the tournament will be held in Khankendi.
