For Kazakhstani Yevgeny Fedorov, the winner of the second stage of the "Baku-Khankendi" Azerbaijan cycling race, taking first place was not so important. Sport24.az reports that the athlete stated this at a press conference.
According to a member of the Astana team, the stage went well enough:
"I thank all the organizers. There was activity at the beginning of the race. The main goal in our team was for someone from the team to win. It wasn't so important for me to be first. The most difficult moment for me today was climbing the hills."
He added that he will try to fight in the coming days as well.
