An international sports festival was held in Ankara to develop and promote Aikido.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to AZERTAC that Aikido masters from 16 countries, including Azerbaijan, participated in the event. The festival included trainings, seminars and exams to obtain a master's degree (dan).
Azerbaijan was represented at the competition by nine sensei and students from the "Azerbaijan-Eurasia Aikido and Budo Center".
The president of the center, Nazim Aliyev, a 7th-degree black belt holder, said that Azerbaijani Aikido practitioners regularly participate in international festivals. He emphasized that Aikido is a martial art that serves harmony, peace and inner balance.
Nazim Aliyev noted that one of the main goals of the center he leads is to popularize Aikido among young people and promote a healthy lifestyle.
It should be noted that the festival, which was attended by more than 300 participants, was also visited by the Japanese Ambassador to Turkey, Tamura Masami. The international festival, which has been held since 2011, brings together Aikido experts from various countries.
