The winners of the "Baku Marathon 2025", held on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, have been determined.
Lent.az reports that the winner of the race among men in the marathon held under the slogan "Conquer the Wind" was Turkish Atac Sezgin. Russian Vitali Shafar crossed the finish line second. The bronze medal was won by another representative of Turkey, Murat Emekdar.
In the women's competition, Ukrainian Natalya Semenovich reached the finish line the fastest. Anna Yusupova representing Azerbaijan took second place, and Japanese athlete Eriko Soma took third place.
The winners will be awarded cash prizes and medals.

The Baku Marathon "Conquer the Wind" has started.
Lent.az reports that the marathon started at 10:00 am from the State Flag Square.
Thousands of participants, well-known political, public, and art figures, and intellectuals have joined the Baku Marathon, which is organized for the 8th time on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. In total, about 28,000 people have registered for the marathon. People with disabilities and children with Down syndrome also participate in the race.
Along with Azerbaijani citizens, foreigners living and working in our country, as well as those from Germany, the United States of America, Australia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Great Britain, France, India, Spain, Italy, Canada, the Netherlands, Uzbekistan, Poland, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and other countries are participating in the marathon.
The marathon, whose start and finish points are the State Flag Square, covers the Seaside Boulevard, including the central streets and avenues of the capital, a total distance of 21 km.
