A meeting was held at the National Olympic Committee (NOC) with athletes and coaches who will participate in the XVIII European Youth Summer Olympic Festival to be held in North Macedonia and Croatia.
According to Idman.biz, after a video presentation about the Skopje-2025 European Youth Olympic Festival, the head of the team's mission, Vagif Aliyev, gave a presentation on preparation for the competition and a model document on "Safe sports."
He informed the participants about the competition to be held in Skopje, Kumanovo, North Macedonia, and Osijek, Croatia. Vagif Aliyev said that, unlike previous ones, this festival will be remembered with several innovations. He noted that one of these innovations is the organization of the games in two different countries and three cities, and the other is the inclusion of new sports in the program - table tennis, shooting and taekwondo. He also informed the participants about the Olympic Village, transport infrastructure, competition venues and safe sports issues.
AMADA's education manager, Gudrat Safarov, spoke to young athletes about the existing anti-doping rules, as well as their rights and responsibilities.
EYOF-2025's young ambassador Narmin Karimova provided information about entertainment and cultural events during the festival.
It should be noted that about 4,000 young athletes aged 13-18 from 50 countries will participate in the festival. The Azerbaijani team will be represented at the festival by 52 (28 men, 24 women) athletes in 10 sports - athletics, swimming, judo, taekwondo, table tennis, shooting, badminton, mountain and road cycling, as well as artistic gymnastics.
The official opening ceremony of the XVIII European Youth Olympic Festival will be held on July 20, and the closing ceremony will be held on July 26.
