Work has begun on the return of the medals won by Azerbaijani athletes at the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games, which were later exposed to erosion. Sport24.az reports that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has appealed to the "Chaumet" jewelry house, which is the manufacturer of the medals and operates within the LVMH company, regarding the issue.
The company stated that the order has been queued and the process of replacing the eroded medals is being carried out in stages.
Currently, the turn has come to replace the eroded medals of Azerbaijani athletes.
These days, the National Olympic Committee will send the medals to France and they will be replaced with new ones.
First of all, the sending of the medals of taekwondo player Gashim Magomedov and Greco-Roman wrestling medalist Hasrat Jafarov will be ensured.
According to reports, the production time for the new medals will take approximately 3-5 weeks.
