Azerbaijan became the first among countries in terms of overall results at the III Turkic States Universiade held in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul province of Kyrgyzstan.
İdman.biz reports that about 500 athletes competed in 6 sports in total, including freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, judo, chess, table tennis, volleyball and futsal, in the competitions organized with the participation of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkey.
Our country was represented in 5 sports and won 9 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze medals in individual competitions. According to the team results, the first place was won in Greco-Roman wrestling, the second place in freestyle wrestling, table tennis and futsal, and the third place in judo and chess.
Azerbaijan became the winner of the Universiade, taking first place based on the total indicator of the number of medals and team results.
