Azerbaijani judoka Ushangi Kokauri continues his successful performance at the "Grand Slam" tournament held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
Idman.Biz reports that U.Kokauri, competing in the +100 kg weight category, successfully passed two stages and advanced to the semifinals.
He started the tournament with a victory over the representative of Kazakhstan, Jantilek Nurtilepulu, and then defeated German athlete Erik Abramov in the 1/4 finals.
Aslan Kotsoev, who competes in the 90 kg weight category, also had a successful start to the competition. He first defeated a judoka from Kazakhstan, and then an Italian representative, reaching the 1/4 finals. However, in this stage, he lost to Dutch athlete Frank de Wit and stopped competing.
A.Kotsoev is now waiting for a consolation match. His opponent will be Mikhail Latyshev, representing Moldova.

Jamal Feyziyev, another representative of Azerbaijan in the heavyweight category, lost to Polish Jakub Sordyl and said goodbye to the tournament.
