Among them is World Championship bronze medalist Eljan Hajiyev (90 kg). He started the fight from the second stage and won against Brazilian representative Gilermo Morashi. He then defeated Augustus Sliteris (Lithuania) and advanced to the semi-finals.
Davud Namazli (100 kg) defeated Lithuanian representative Tadas Narkus in his first match, but lost to Japanese Miku Nozomi in the next stage.
Ramazan Ahmadov (+100 kg) advanced by defeating Moldovan athlete Alin Bagrin.
Nigar Suleymanova (+78 kg) defeated Lucy Williams from Great Britain, but later lost to South Korean Ha-Yun Kim.
