The judokas who will represent Azerbaijan at the XVIII European Youth Summer Olympic Festival (EYOF), which will be held in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, have been determined.
The Judo Federation told "Report" about this.
Azerbaijan will be represented by 12 judokas (6 boys, 6 girls) in 12 weight categories at EYOF. Among the female judokas, Gulshan Huseynova (44 kg), Nurana Hajizade (48 kg), Aysun Mammadova (52 kg), Samaya Yusifli (57 kg), Ayan Aliyeva (63 kg), Zemfira Aliyeva (+70 kg) will compete.
Among the male judokas, Rza Khalili (50 kg), Rasul Alizade (55 kg), Zeyd Alasgarov (60 kg), Muhammad Agakishiyev (73 kg), Amin Mehdiyev (81 kg) and Subhan Akhundov (+90 kg) will try to take a place on the honorary podium.
The national team will participate in the mixed team competition on the last day of the tournament. The judokas will be led by Emin Iskandarov, the head coach of the junior boys' team, and Elnur Ismayilov, the head coach of the junior girls' team.
It should be noted that the competition will be held between July 22–26. 341 athletes (184 boys, 157 girls) from 44 countries will test their strength in the judo competitions of the festival.
