The European Judo Championship among juniors started today in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.

Anar Guliyev, competing in the 50 kg weight category, took the highest step of the podium. He defeated German Julius Kitangawa by ippon in the final.
Rasul Alizade (55 kg) was remembered with a successful result at the European Championship. He defeated Matteo Qualandini in the final and added another gold medal to the assets of our national team.
Zeyd Alasgarov, who competed in the 60 kg weight category, also achieved the maximum result at the European Championship. He defeated Georgian representative Tsotne Ichkitidze with a full advantage in the decisive match and won the title of champion of the tournament.
Gulshan Huseynova (44 kg) distinguished herself in the girls' competition. Our judoka won a bronze medal by defeating Fatma Zehra Meki (Turkey) in the match for third place.
Narmin Agamirzazade (48 kg) defeated all her opponents until the final. She lost in the decisive match and was satisfied with silver.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team will be represented in the competition by 19 athletes (10 boys, 9 girls) in 14 weight categories in individual competition.
Our team will compete in the mixed team competition on the last day of the tournament.
